Motorists should ‘tread’ carefully

April 2nd, 2009

I wrote in this blog recently about maximising the value of your car by cleaning it and maintaining it to a high level.

I saw an article on the swiftcover.com website which reaffirms this. Continental Tyres carried out research and found that up to 3.5 million road users in the UK may be driving with illegal tyres.

Many people are not aware of what the tread on their tyres should be or how they should check it. Having worn tyres can lead to accidents, particularly in wet weather when roads get very slippery. People driving around in vehicles that are not roadworthy risk their car insurance provider not paying out.

If the weather this weekend is nice, get out there and give your car a good once over making sure that you and your passengers are traveling in a safe, insured car.
